Cristina Cruz-Jennings
Cristina is a Kennedy & Graven, Chartered associate practicing municipal law.
A Delaware native, Cristina received her B.A. from the University of Delaware in 2014 where she triple majored in Spanish Language and Literature, Sociology, and Comparative Literature. Following graduation she worked for a nonprofit organization providing services to families affected by domestic violence, served as a Spanish language court interpreter for the Delaware Courts, and was an English language teaching assistant in Madrid, Spain.
Cristina moved to Minneapolis in 2017 to attend the University of Minnesota Law School and received her J.D. in 2020. While at the University of Minnesota Cristina served as the president of the Asylum Law Project, a student organization that coordinates volunteer opportunities in the field of immigration law for first-year law students. She also worked as a law clerk for both University of Minnesota Student Legal Services and the Hennepin County Public Defender’s Office.
Before joining Kennedy & Graven Cristina worked as an Assistant Public Defender at the Hennepin County Public Defender’s Office on the Misdemeanor/Gross Misdemeanor team.
Cristina lives in Saint Louis Park with her wife Jaclyn, their dog Tango, and their cat Black Bean. When not practicing law she enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, and listening to podcasts. Cristina is a proud member of the Minnesota State Parks and Trails Passport Club and hopes to eventually visit each of Minnesota’s 75 state parks.
