Alemayehu (“Al”) Ditamo is an associate at Kennedy & Graven, Chartered, practicing in the area of education law.
Al grew up in the Twin Cities. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Saint Thomas. After college, Al earned his J.D., cum laude, from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. During law school, he externed with the Honorable Kate M. Menendez at the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, clerked for the 10th Judicial District Public Defender’s Office, and Messerli and Kramer. He also served as a staff member for the Mitchell Hamline School of Law Review. Prior to joining Kennedy & Graven, Al worked in the civil litigation division of a county defending the county from a variety of lawsuits in state, federal, and administrative court as well as providing general counsel to the county and its stakeholders. Al is admitted to practice law in Minnesota State Court and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
Al lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From hiking to camping, Al enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and reading.
